 A Brief Synopsis

SHADOW VISIONS (c) 2012 Samhain Publishing

Manuel has been tracking down a demon bent on sacrificing women with hummingbird tattoos. He is in danger of losing his humanity to his eagle spirit until he comes across Ixa Reyes, a beautiful San Diego Detective working on the same case, who also bears the mark of Huitzilopochtli. She is his salvation and redemption from a past filled with failure. Only she wants nothing to do with him or her heritage.
When a demon kidnaps her grandfather, the wind god, they must work together to save him and all mankind. He has twenty-four hours to help her control her elemental power over wind, that is if he can control his own desires to claim her body and soul. Because if he should fail, then the god of war will bring in a new era filled with blood and destruction.

When the last Shadow Warrior falls, so will humanity.

And Now for their wonderful Guest Post

What element are you?

I love writing paranormal romance! It is a genre where you can whip up some super cool fantasy and marry it to the dark side. I am most happy to introduce my latest series from Samhain Publishing, SHADOW WARRIORS.

Today I want to share my heroines with you. They are some super-wicked wonders with awesome elemental powers that they wield like weapons to defeat the dreaded Tzitzimime.

What is a TZITZIMIME? (pronounced: tsEts E MI me) They are ancient celestial beings sent down to earth to destroy humanity and cultivate the souls and bodies of people who have lived evil lives or disobeyed the gods. They are destructive demons that appear in the SHADOW WARRIOR series, so it is necessary to bring your own artillery to kick their butts. (Sure having hot men save the day is great, still I think women deserve the ability to defend themselves too, don’t you think?)

So without further ado, I give you my heroines, guardians of ancient Aztec gods and goddesses who use their elemental powers to protect all of humanity.

WATER: The ability to calm, nurture and cultivate. A woman with the element of water is a fluid creature who goes with the flow and finds grace under pressure but do not be fooled by her cool attitude. She can be destructive and when she is raging can destroy everything her path. She can meander around a problem or run a hole right through it.

In OUT OF THE SHADOWS, Book 1, Carolina is a feisty woman who doesn’t let a demon or a sexy shadow warrior deviate her from her path. She is determined to wipe away any scourge from her land, washing it clean and making sure that her family is protected.

WIND: This ability allows great freedom but is hard to harness and direct. Like the wind this type of woman is a free spirit but carries a great deal of purpose and is forever in motion. She can be gentle or she can be harsh. She has the power to create trouble by stirring up water and fanning the flames. She can also be a breath of fresh air and the life of the party.

In SHADOW VISIONS, Book 2, Ixa is a woman with a mission, not afraid to huff and puff and blow the bad guys down. Still she is never fully solid in her reasoning and can be prone to flight. She is a woman who needs a steady hand and man who isn’t afraid to deal with her swirling emotions and tempestuous temper.

EARTH: This ability holds with it a unique power to cure ailments and nurture life. Similar to the ground she walks on she is real and solid. A woman with depth and fortitude, she is not easily moved from her beliefs. When she is upset she shakes the earth and can cause great damage. Still she is the forgiving kind and quickly makes amends to put everything back in balance. Everywhere she steps, roses grow underfoot.

In MOUNTAIN SHADOWS, Book 3, Talia is a caring soul, one who believes in helping others and saving lives, even if at times it is to her own detriment. She is tough and hardy, always willing to get her hands dirty and never afraid to dig in deep when trouble surfaces but underneath the stoic exterior lays a woman with cracks and scars. She needs a man who isn’t afraid to scratch beneath the surface and she might have found her spirit mate in a man with heart harder than stone.

FIRE: The ability to burn, destroy and send your adversary up in flames. Caution is needed with this highly combustible lady. She is a passionate soul and lover of deep proportions but be careful the winds could shift on you and you may find yourself being burned by your own flare of temper.

In NIGHT SHADOWS (working title), Book 4, Blanca finds her fire element is hard to extinguish and has a way of burning her straight to her core. No one’s passion burns hotter than hers, except maybe that of her spirit mate, a seductive Jaguar bent on controlling her. But like those that play with fire, they soon get burned.

I have to admit I wish I did have some elemental power. If I did, I know most likely would be considered fire. I have a propensity to burn hot with passion. Although, my friends might disagree and think I am more like wind, as sometimes I have my head in the clouds. But my co-workers might say I am water, as I just go with the flow. I would like to think above all else I am a down-to-earth kind of girl.
